Funding going to run out before degree is finish Open Uni?

I get my course fee's paid due to my low income, at the moment I have 120 credits, You can only get funding for 6 years, I dropped out of a course a few years back which has screwed me leaving me 60 credits short, I will get funding for another 2 years after this one I think which will leave me short of a degree, and that's assuming I pass the next few years.

So my question is how do I pay for the rest? is there such a thing as a student loan?

Does the grant you get currently not from Student loan Company? or whatever it is now.

Yes, you can get student loans for OU study - the information is on their website. Be aware that for some degrees (law for example) do require that the degree is completed within a certain period, so you need to be sure that all your credits are still valid.

Yes that's a grant, not a loan. Or at least I hope its not a loan.

Yeah I checked that out, my previous credits are fine.

But I would think that the grant is instead of a loan, that you can't have both. I have no idea on part time fees mind.

How much would the 60 credits cost?

Grants were part of the old system, loans are part of the new - and never the twain shall meet* ;)

    * Although finance was available on the old system, but in a different way to now!

But there are 3 systems, which is old?!!?!

So someone on benefits can get free university? Do they pay the same fee all the way through? Or reevaluated as one goes along?

On the old system, anyone on a low income (which varied according to your circumstances) could get a fee waiver, yes. I'm not sure if this was reassessed each year or not. For those entitled to help prior to 2012, they can continue to receive it unless they take a break in study, in which case they would go on to the new system (based on loans).
