Asda card / petrol

in Credit cards
I've just read advert for Adsa credit card, which gives 2p /litre off petrol (at Asda).
This seems like a good deal. Plus the card also accrues points worth 0.5p for every £ spent.
Anyone any comments or experience of this card?

I have one, it is good as long as you pay off the balance in full every month. Otherwise the interest charges outweigh the savings. The 2p comes off after you fill up, so as you fill up, the machine will show the price before the discount, but your card will be charged 2p a litre less.0

Would agree.
They are pretty fussy who they accept. I myself and I know other people with good credit historys that get refused for some unknown reason. Took me two applications to get approved and then I only got a £500 Credit Limit and at 19.8% APR.
First time I applied online I didn't specify payment by DD and got rejected, second time a month later I specified DD and got accepted. But the DD they were going to take was the minimum payment only. So I called them to change to full.
The £500 Credit limit is fine for fuel and the occasional home shopping I use it for as you get free delivery over £500. The online Account Management is terrible though the site is down or times out more often than not.Cheers

I had problems. I phoned them up and the guy who answered said that I should just wait a few weeks as they're launching a new website. In the meantime, he gave me all the details of outstanding balance, payments, etc that I needed to know.0 -
Wouldn't hold my breath though they said that back in January when I first got the Card. Other than for the fuel saving I'd have binned the Card.Cheers

I have the card, again for the discount on fuel as I drive along way to and from work each day. You would need to pay the card off in full thought each month to see the benefits otherwise any savings are lost in the interest charged.
Beware though, they do call you at least once a month trying to flog you PPI on the card!Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
With regards to the interest outweighing the cashback its right in most occassions, always pay off in full (well 99% of ths time)
the best one really is Egg Money which is only 7.9% apr still alot but not nearly as much as others
M&S not 17.9% APR also....
As far as PPI is concerned I feel sorry for the people who speak to me about it as I wipe the floor with them! Its quite funny!INCREASE INTEREST ON SAVINGS!
...I will thank you if youve been helpful, please do the same! :j0
