2 Weeks after my accident and my shoulder is getting worse...
Options
Some guy crashed into us (we were stationary, and he hit the back of us...UPHILL - so he was going pretty fast).
We've just had confirmation that the car is a write off and Direct Line have been in contact with us regarding my injuries, my SO was fine, his neck was a bit tender for a couple of days, but he is okay now.
Since the accident, my shoulder muscle'y bit has had an achy pain to it, which is just getting worse. The lady at Direct Line said she'd call me and see if I want physio. I am just looking for information on how this works. Do they arrange it all and pay up front? Or do I pay for the appointment and it's refunded by Direct Line?
The other driver has claimed all liability for it.

Have you consulted a doctor? That should be your first priority, not your insurer.0

You will be entitled to compensation for your injury as well as any physio costs reimbursed.
You really need your own solicitor to advise and act for you rather than deal direct with the third party (who have a conflict of interest).0 -

Yes, well, I went initially for my neck pain and when I started getting pins and needles down my arm and into my fingers. He told me that it should go away soon (within 4-6 weeks). I told this to the lady at Direct Line when she called me and she said that I shouldn't wait that long. He told me to take paracetemol and ibuprofen, which is what I've been doing but the pain is getting worse. I can't turn move my arm behind me without this shooting pain in my shoulder blade, and my neck and shoulder clicks sometimes when I breathe.
I just don't know how it works. She told me that they arrange for physio, but should I see my GP first?0 -
For goodness sake see your doctor ASAP and if needed get a scan done if needed!
Even consider a NHS walk in centre......
All this who pays can be sorted out months after ......... Any good physio treating you would want to know what damage there was !
After your Gp says its ok (or not) then you can use your insurance company to short cut the waiting times to see an NHS physio.

Okay, thanks. Well, my GP said to wait 4-6 weeks...that's why I'm not sure what to do here. I don't know if it's normal or not, or what the next steps are!
I'll make an appointment on Monday to see the GP and see what he says.0 -

If you had a virus that got considerably worse, would you ring your insurer or would you go to see your doctor?
It comes across that you are more interested in the money than the injury.0 -
HOW?! The lady on the phone to me said that if it were any worse to call HER, not my GP. What money are you talking about? I don't see how going to a physio entitles me to money?
!!!! sake.0 -

Your personal injury claim. That money.;)
Why else would you call the insurance company rather than a doctor if it gets worse?0 -

Because she can get me to a physio quicker (I assume) than any NHS GP?0 -
