Can I claim I miss sold on Level term Assurance with critical illness benefit

I n August of 2001 my wife and I were sold the above.

Subsequently my wife had a RTA and suffered a fractured spine a few years after that I suffered a minor heart attack.

Both these claims were dismissed by HSBC as not critical with little or no investigation.

Do I have grounds for a complaint with critical illness?
Has anyone claimed against critical illness.

Many thanks,,

You have grounds for complaint if these were classed as critical illnesses in your policy. You don't if they weren't.

No mis-sale complaint. However, if you think they handled the claim wrong then you may have had a complaint. Although you may now be barred from complaint on that.

Yes. Loads of people claim on the policies. Statistically, you are more likely to suffer a claimable event on a CI policy then you are a life assurance policy.

You have not been mis-sold though.
