Insurance for Modified Cars

My car has been modified by the manufacture with a optional extra bodykit when it was bought and although it is bought as this I have to declare it to my Insurance.

I have just turned 25 this week so thought my insurance may drop in price but I have just had my renewal through and it has gone up to £60.11 per month from £48 per month last year without any convictions or insurance claims occuring.

I have tried a few online quotes and to be honest I can't get any near my quote in price.

Does anybody know any companies which may be cheaper?

Thanks

What type of car is it, and what does the bodykit consist of?

Its Ford Fiesta and is the GTR/SWA bodykit. It has side skirts, front and rear valance and roof spoiler.

You should be okay with most insurers - Admiral could be a good one to try.

I would always recommend calling as many 0800 in the yellow pages as your patience allows. Online quotes don't always allow you to tailor the quote to your needs. I do this every year for 2 cars and a bike and have always got my quote lower than the previous year.
