Cost Of Re-laying Patio

I've had a quote to have my old patio lifted and relaid with new slabs, and also extended a bit, total area will 24sq metres. I've had a quote of £1700, does this sound reasonable?

Depends on the groundworks required, the extra area, the slope, mixer hire, skip hire, whacker plate hire and the quality and size of slabs they are using......

My "man who does" charges £100 a day for his services and £75 for "the boy" (if required) and the cost of materials on top of that. At a guess it(depends on slope, size of slabs, groundworks etc) would be about 5 man days work - so £450 ish for labour plus the cost of the slabs, concrete and equiptment hire on top of that.

Seems highish to me if they are only using a standard patio slab.....but lots of factors affect the price

Hi thanks for that. My son's having our slabs so they won't need a skip and most of the hardcore is in place already on a flat surface. they are nice slabs but I don't know what they cost individually but I did think it seemed like a high quote. Got someone else coming tomorrow, firend of a friend, so I'll see what he reckons!
