Manchester Building Society have written in response to a question from me :
''The interest rate on the Money by Mail 90 will be 6.01% from the 8th June.''
Anyone here know of a better alternative account with that Society to maintain membership?

i had manchester BS reg/saver around 10 years ago even that wanted minimum 50.00 a month and paid after a while between 2-3% gross from memory so i ended up closing it partly not solely cos i needed cash at 1 time so closed a few of the poorer paying, some might say pointless building society accounts
manchester BS been min 2500 and generally poor rates on open issues for some time ( top rate on their website is 5.75% from tom on a 1 year fixed
£2,500 - £4,999 1.71 gross ( instant access account) :rotfl: ( from 8th)
before closing u could try giving notice barring 100.00 always worth a try ( most societies say reserve the right to close if goes below certain balance)0 -
Thanks, bristolleedsfan. I selected the 'Thanks' button, but just got jumped to top of screen. Wonder if the fault is with MSE site, or my old-ish software? Methinks this new site has good colour scheme, by the way.0
