Finally exchanging contracts, need advice on removal company

Hi all,

Finally received a phone call from the estate agent saying we should be able to move in 3-4 weeks time to our new house :j So I guess it's time to arrange a removal company.

As I've never done this before, I'd really appreciate your advice on this. Can anyone recommend and removal company who will do the packaging as well? We will move from Loughton to Reading and it's a 2 bed mid terraced house.

Thanks

The word that would worry me is 'should' and also '2-3 weeks'. If you have exchanged contracts then surely you have a firm completion date?

Actually we haven't exchanged the contracts yet. This was a rough estimate from the estate agent.

But still, getting estimates for removal wouldn't hurt :)

Not sure if they'd go to Reading, but try Inline Removals. They've done my moves several times and they've been good (packing service and moving).

I moved with them from SE London to Highams Park, and from E4 to Brentwood, then Brentwood to E4.

They're based in the Docklands somewhere, I think.

Not used them for packing although I think they do it. I used GB Liners the last twice I moved (they currently have my stuff in storage).

Why isnt your conveyncer the one telling you the timescale ?
Dont spend money on any removals until youve exchanged

Another vote for GB Liners. We've used them twice, both times with them packing, once with them storing for several months. Excellent service, not a thing broken. Not necessarily the cheapest you'll find, but we'd have no hesitation in using them again.

Crispins in Hoxton. They moved us from E3 to south Essex and were really the dogs.

Hi everyone, I have just moved from Crystal Palace to Tower Bridge last week and we used a company called the go2vanman, they were recommended by access Self storage in Tower Bridge. I must say, they really did a great job. They called an hour before they arrived to let us know they were on there way, they arrived on time and were very friendly. We had a quick chat and they got straight to work. They were really fast but also took great care with our fragile items. They had all the right gear for mooing, blankets, trolleys etc. The whole move was over much quicker then I thought it would be and now we are settling in happily to our new home. Highly recommended. Oh yea, this a number I was given for them 0784 701 5420.
