Parking Charge Notice (APCOA) Birmingham Airport

Options
Hi I received a notice from APCOA when my wife dropped me off at Birmingham airport outside Hotel IBIS on the 15/07.

The signs are clearly marked the drop off point is only for hotel customers which I have the ritual monday lunch at the restaurant prior to the flight so I thought thats within the rules.

The reason why APCOA sent me this is they expect me to use the 5 min drop off point in the main car park which is a charge of £1 only. Now its not much but its more convenient to drop off outside the hotel as am using it. I have had taxi drivers drop me off at the point during some weeks as well.

The letter has photos of myself the passenger exiting the vehicle and heading towards the hotel as well as centre pic a taxi parked behind the wifes car (clearly showing its a drop off point)
it just seems they decided to take photograph of me exiting the passenger side and now asking for the drivers details and payment of £100 (£50 within 2 weeks of letter)

Where do I stand with this? do I pay up

Is the car in your name ?
If so stick it in the nearest bin.
    Be happy...;)

IGNORE THIS ADVICE. AND OF COURSE YOU DO NOT PAY!!!!!

Same advice as I gave here re Luton Airport and APCOA:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4724663

A strong first challenge (not saying who was driving) has been known to get it cancelled at this early stage. If not then come back when you get your POPLA coded like that person did, to get help to make that a killer appeal. Ignore is OLD advice and Spacey2012 is on his own spouting that rubbish.

Read current threads about POPLA and about registered keeper liability (which APCOA do not have here! Clue: it's Airport land, look at other Luton threads as there are more of them than Brum ones!):

HTH, now I really must stop posting and pack for my holiday!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Depends if you have the guts to ignore a pile of junk mail full of threats and defend a no hope of success court claim in county court in the very unlikely statistical chance they try to claim the fake fine in court.
The bed wetters will be along shortly with a long list of instructions to reach the same conclusion. .
    Be happy...;)

OK spacey we get it that you are man enough to handle a court case any time in the next six years never mind the harassment by debt collectors or getting a default judgement & CCJ because you move & the court papers go to your old address.

However for those who prefer a quieter life then after a bit of research just two letters are all that is required to see this hassle gone. An appeal to APCOA & then when that is refused another to POPLA the "independent" secondary appeals body. We know how to win at POPLA.

Anyone can Invent a court case against anyone at any time, I could decide you owe me £350 for posting under me and take you to court for it.
I will have around the same chance as a two bit parking firm of winning the case.
    Be happy...;)
