Hi,
Sorry to bother you but wondered if you could help with a private eye parking charge I have today received.
I was parked in an Aldi supermarket car park which states that you are allowed 1 hour 15 minutes free car park if you punch your registration into a pad upon finishing your shop.
For the first time I failed to do this and as it was a cash purchase I didn't keep my receipt.
Mitigation circumstances are that it was an extremely hot day and my 2 year old daughter was causing havoc and having a mini tantrum which meant I wasn't concentrating.
The length of time I parked there was 38 minutes.
Having read numerous posts on here and looked on you tube/watchdog just wondered if you could kindly advise on to what action I should take.
Kind Regards

You missed the Aldi facebook current thread then?

Tells you to complain to Aldi (of course) and they will cancel it (of course). Always get angry with the Supermarkets over these scam fake PCNs. Let us know what happens and ONLY speak to the Store manager themselves (or use the Aldi CS email address on that linked thread).
By the way, I am now going on holiday so will be back in 2 weeks - hence why my pm inbox is deliberately full so no-one thinks I am ignoring them!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Did exactly what was suggested spoke to shop manager who then referred it to someone higher up at Aldi, but gave me a reference number.
Someone phoned back 2 days later, asked me several questions and then said as a gesture of good will would cancel the parking charge!!0 -
Good result OP, well done. The pressure Aldi has been put under by their FaceBook page - encouraged by this and the Pepipoo forum - has seen a number of these tickets revoked.
However, there's precious little 'good will' about it and Aldi will remain in total cahoots with PE in the systematic persecution and plundering of their customers.
I'd shop somewhere else. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

As I have stated over on PePiPoo, Aldi are even supporting PE over their stance of demanding £50 from the motorist before they will drop a court case, even after Aldi have ordered PE to drop the case. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Well done OP on this
As for parking eye charging £50 for dropping a case, if you have a letter from Aldi rescinding the ticket without any conditions, what are they claiming for ? How can they claim for something that has been cancelled ?
Are they claiming just for the £50 at court or the full £180 or so ? The whole thing stinksWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

And a comment on the aldi Facebook page from aldi themselves strongly suggests they are indeed sharing data without permission.

I had Aldi telling me today that they can't drop all the cost, I had to tell her to stop shouting at me because the phone was distorting when I told her they could.0

I bet that was Rachel. When I spoke to her she did seem very aggressive and appeared to have been brain-washed by Parking Eye.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
