A little help for an old bloke !!

Hi everyone - just joined the forum and hoping to get some advice - Ive read various articles re ppi claiming and Im a bit lost.
Back in 2002 I wanted a new motorcycle - I researched on the internet and found what i thought was a good deal. The company agreed to take my old bike in px and the deal was done on the phone. My new motorcycle was delivered and the old one taken away - at the time I had to sign some kind of "finance form".
I subsequently discovered that I had ppi although I did not ask for it. I phoned the company that I brought the bike from and I was told that it was part of the "deal" and the bike and the finance would have been " a lot higher If I didnt have it" and the salesman said to keep it as " you never know when you might need it " I enquired what the cover was and was told it would protect me if I became ill or unemployed. To save the hastle I just left things as they were.
When I became unemployed sometime later I tried to claim but was rejected, which means I lost the bike plus all the money I had already paid out. So I can remember the company that sold me the Motorcycle and I can remember who provided the finance - I have no Idea if it was the finance company that provided the ppi themselves or through a subsidury company and I have no paperwork - am I on a hiding to nothing ???? Help ! any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You complain to the seller. However, do be aware that most motor dealers did not become regulated until January 2005. So, they may reject it as pre-regulation.
