hi all. i wonder if someone could help please? i ran out of the colour of Ronseal Fencelife i was using and had to wait 6days for more to come in. in an attempt to get the fence waterproofed, i bought the next shade down (dark oak to medium oak) to do this, with the intention of applying a second coat of the dark oak afterwards. when i opened the tin of medium oak stain, i found it was almost orange in colour and nothing like the label on the tub. Ronseal customer services are trying to poo poo the whole thing off with the usual sort of bull. i want to email Paul Barrow, who i believe is CEO of Ronseal and make him aware of what has happened, including copies of the condescending email from the aforementioned but cant find his email address. does anyone already have it and if so, are you prepared to share it with me? i would be most grateful. failing that, who is the customer services director that i could write to. i know the Ronseal address is Sheffield and assume that is the manufacturing part as well as the head office. help needed, please guys, if anyone can

Hi,
why not just take it back to shop, or try a bit on fence, see how it dries.
Your reaction seems a bit rash.0 -
sorry for not stating so, but i have already tried it on a part of the fence. how else would i know what it looks like?
i doubt very much if i am the first person to have bought something expecting it to be similar to what is depicted on the tin, only to find out the vast difference. all i want to do is have it replaced. obviously the shop isn't going to give a refund on an open tub, even though there is only an eggcup full missing.0 -
Hi,
take it back to shop, if it's the wrong colour, might be a bad batch or wrongly labelled, maybe they've had other complaints, could be harvest gold.Dark Oak
Harvest Gold
Forest Green
Medium Oak
Red Cedar
Tudor Black Oak
Country Oak

looking at the colours above, it is almost exactly like Harvest Gold! the medium oak, according to those colours would have worked really well. a second coat of dark oak on the top would have looked fine. sorry to say that the Ronseal rep who mailed me was as condescending as hell and all i had done was ask for an opinion as to what to do, given what i had found. i hadn't asked for anything other than an opinion. what i got was some obnoxious person quoting the Ronseal text on the tub! obviouys she has Ronseal running through the middle like a stick of rock!0
