luckily other party has admitted fault, and I have been issued a courtesy car whilst my car gets fixed.
is it worth me claiming 1/2 lost wages from visiting clients and a taxi receipt? I work for my own Ltd company, so what proof do I need to give them?
If you own a limited company how have YOU lost money? It sounds like your company has lost money not you. Loss of dividends would almost certainly be considered to detached from the incident to be a reasonable head of claim
The taxi receipt for whilst you were without a car would be fine0 -

yes I could not attend duties for my Ltd Co for my clients so it lost income.
Do I just need to submit my accountants letter for 5 hours work?
if more info is required such as accounts/client names I might be reluctant to proceed as most of that info is confidential.0 -

You'll need to evidence loss of income so you may need to disclose that.0 -
Your company can't claim for the financial loss here as it is too remote to the accident. Forget claiming for this item of claim.
If you personally have gone unpaid for the afternoon, then you have a loss, but if you pay yourself £5k a year to avoid income tax and then live off dividends I wouldn't bother as the paperwork you would need will be disproportionate to the sum being claimed.
Also, your family can't claim for shock etc and if you have no physical injuries and no diagnosed psychiatric condition as a result of the accident, forget trying to claim for injuries, unless the third party insruers can't resist throwing a grand at you and there is nothing really physically wrong with you (assuming you have todl them the same as you have on this thread)0 -
Dear oh lord! Just get your car fixed and move on. Be thankful you weren't hurt.
Trying to claim for your family's 'shock' at the accident and for your Limited Company to make a claim just seems ridiculous.
Sorry, but your reaction just seems ott.0 -
....as I like to keep all that info confidential.
Then don't bother trying to claim your lost wages unless you are willing or able to justify those. The more you wriggle the more digging they are likely to do. If you had the whole family in the car doesn't sound like a work related trip anyway.0 -
thanks for replies, I am not claiming any injuries.
I had planned to use the car for company business in that afternoon, was taking son to a medical appointment in the morning.0 -

It wasnt in an accident, you were.
If you stop yourself 5 hours salary then you can claim that back but I assume you are paying yourself less than minimum wage and so the charge from your accountant will probably outweigh the money you'd be claiming.
Again the accountancy fee for the above would be incurred by the company not by you and so wouldnt be recoverable either.
When you operate a limited company there are some advantages (namely tax) and some disadvantages. It is too remote from the accident for it to claim anything.0
