Hi All
Our car has recently failed it's MOT. After many months/years of repairs we have decided that enough is enough and would like to sell it.
I feel it is not in a bad condition apart from a failed MOT for a few items so I do not want to scrap it.
What are the best ways to sell a car. I did list one in Auto Trader but it was quite pricey.
Thanks

Personally I would stick it on eBay with a starting price of the scrap value, and an accurate description including a detailed list of the MOT failure points. Other than that, maybe try Gumtree, Ad-Mag or similair...0

It'll sell better with an MOT, because the first question on any potential buyers lips will be "why hasn't it got an MOT? Is it going to be too expensive to fix?"
So if you're able your best bet is to get it fixed and passed and sell it with a 12 month MOT. Failing that do as above and advertise it at scrap value with a list of faults and see what happens.0 -

We have pumped alot of money into the car over the past few years so feel enough is enough now0 -
Ebay it. Too many messers on Gumtree that text asking if you will take less then when they turn up they try and knock you down more. What I have also noticed with Gumtree is it is mostly the same group of people buying and selling cars passing off as private sales. Least in my area anyway.0
