Problems with FairFx - Joke of company

I am attempted to get 1000 pounds worth of euros onto a prepaid cash card.

I read review from the usually dependable MSE. Only to be screwed over by a very product it advertises.

I applied for my first card for £1000 (which was taken from my account) but the website stating that my bank had blocked this amount due to the amount being too big.

But I ring my bank to find out that FairFx have taken amounts of £1005.00 TWICE!!!!

I have now been left out of pocket to the tune of £2100 and without any Euros or a card!

Can I ring anyone at the company? No! (no number!)

Do they response to emails? No!

How can MSE recommend such a company. It is a disgrace!

This was suppose to save my time and be simple as you clearly state!!

I will not be recommending your company to anyone and will be seeking legal aid in this matter!

I've been using them for years without much in the way of issues, when I have had to contact them, they've been quick to respond.

You could try pinging a message on Twitter and see if that wakes them up
I'm sure it'll all get sorted for you in good time.

Angry fellow aren't you. Legal aid? Are you serious?

Something's gone wrong, it happens. You can prove of its fairfx or your bank (many never believe a word a bank says)

I've been using my fair fx card for years, is been fantastic and will be when I need it again later this year.

They have twitter and FB if you have those options available to you...

I've never attempted to contact them by phone but I've always been impressed by the speed of their replies to any e-mails I've sent them.

Are you sure these payments are taken or is it showing up by your available balance being reduced?

I don't think this is necessarily as sinister as it seems. When a debit card is used by a merchant and there is a problem such as the address details being entered wrongly, the transaction will fail but the money will be allocated by your card issuer.

When the merchant tries the second time with corrected details the payment will fail if you have insufficient credit left. The allocated money is released in a day or two automatically so it is available again but you or the merchant can possibly speed this process up.

I assume they are attempting to take1005 rather than 1000 because of a set up fee.
