how are they not a great deal? the specs of them for the price is a great deal, this isnt no £300 box standard pc, which is why where i live and i imagine other places also they still fly of the shelve once on offer hence GRABBIT.
if people prefer to buy a cheaper pc then fair play to them, but there are others out there that want this kind of spec and so its a good buy.0 -
we'll have to agree to differ then.0

But the whole point that I and others are making is that these are available NOW and have been for 5 weeks in loads of Aldis all over the country, where they do not fly off the shelves like there is no tomorrow. Given that the early ones did, and the fact that the previous model that went on sale in early November 2004 was still available on Christmas Eve, must relate to their perceived "value for money" wow factor.
Personally I think they are overpriced by £100 to £150 and should sell in an outlet like this for £599 to £649There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

then show me somewhere else that has these specs for 100-150 less?0 -
These PC's are great if you require all the extras. As people have said, these are not flying off the shelves - even if they did, Aldi will take orders for one up to 7 days after the offer starts, so no need to queue up for one.
I agree, this is a cracking PC and what must put the price up is the 3 year on-site warranty, but it is only a good PC if you are going to use the features. If like most people you are only going to use it to type a letter, send an e-mail and surf the net, you better off with a £250 dell!0 -
pity they did not have any hard drives for sale like last time. does anyone has inside info on what aldi plan to sell in a couple of weeks time?Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

I have an 8083. It's gone wrong twice. First time the engineer came out ithin 48 hours and replaced the DVD drive, no problem.
The second time it crashed "fatal error" I called the help line, they diagnosed a mother board failure, I waited four weeks for them to get the part, when the engineer came it wasn't that at all, he fixed it within 10 mins.
The upshot is, you will not find a better spec for the same money, the engineer said the parts alone would exceed the cost of the PC, he didn't know how they could sell them at this price.
Four weeks is along time to wait to have your PC repaired, the Medion service is appalling, but is anyone else any better??Nice to save.0 -
I must admit that I bought a cheap Dell PC, £186, and I was quite unimpressed with the performance. My old 933mhz Pentium III was faster on some occasions than the Dell, despite the processor in the new PC supposedly being about 3 times as fast
Having said that, £749 is a lot more than £186, and I believe that quite a decent laptop can be had for that sort of sumThanks to all who post constructively.
Have an A1 day!0 -
Maybe they were such a good buy on previous occasions and still running perfectly/future proofed that people are happy with these previous offerings and have no need to upgrade!Middlers0
