Am taking an Excel exam tomorrow, but it's the formulas doing my head in!!
I have a big book, but they do it different from my tutor, which is for example:
=SUM(B4:C4)
Does anyone know of a site, where i can copy some from? Please! Am allowed notes in exam. Its the multiple ones, i get stuck on!

Being an accountant, I use Excel all the time. If I get get stuck, I find the Microsoft help function easy to use.
For this problem, what are the alternatives that are causing the grief?Today is the first day of the rest of your life0 -

most excel formulas are just basic maths the placement of the brackets is key in most even in maths
You just need to know the rules and options available to you and you work things out.
the help files should have everything you will need0 -
Thanks guys, yes as Little John says, its the brackets! I took a exam today, failed, i know why, did two simple calculations, i knw they were right, checked on calculator, then i had to change a number, and to check if total, etc, had changed i clicked on undo first, then couldn't have gone forward enough times to where i was!!Stupidly! If anyone understands that!!lol, am resitting it tomorrow, but its for clait, and if you don't pass all 5 modules, you don't get diploma, have passed 3, just got this and data bases to go!! you get 3 tries at each module, so i guess i just better pay more attention!!0

I think I was about 13 when I got a CLAIT certificate, did it in my spare time. I'm guessing things have changed a bit (14 years since now). As Little John says about the brackets, we were taught BODMAS in school, the order you do things in mathematical equations. Brackets, Order (ie powers), Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Yes, we have done that, but i am so bad at maths!!:D even formulas!! I know what i did wrong, it was clicking the "undo" button, the first two sums were right, so any change, it would have automatically changed the total, but me, i had to mess around!!lol, this is the only module, i havn't passed first time!! But, boy some in the class are worse tham me, i was doing ok in the practice, then failed the exam!!:mad:0
