Background Check/Tenant Referencing - Overseas Tenant

Hi All,
wonder if I could benefit from some of your advice. Have been doing viewings for my flat, the vast majority seem to be Europeans and I am just curious how I would go about doing a background/tenant referencing check for them ?
As to date my past tenants have been from the UK and I normally use rentchecks to alert me to CCJ's and other UK specific things.

Virtually impossible.
Many LLs require 6months rent upfront.
I prefer a UK based, home-owning, guarantor.
