Poor garage now denying working on my car!!
I'll try and keep this simple, I'm basically wondering where to go next
Car making awful noise
Took to garage they said needed replacing engine
Went to pick up car and given £2k bill
Asked for new engine number and turns out same engine
Said repaired my engine
Paid £1500 cash they wouldn't give me receipt
Reported to Motor Codes regulators to mediate
Garage denied working on the car
Provided Motor Codes with evidence, pictures & voice recordings
Garage then ignore Motor Codes
Case passed to Trading Standards
What do I do now to try and recoup excess costs? The car was not repaired properly and I had to trade it in this week!
Please help
Thanks..

surely trading standards are the people to advise you on your questions given they have all the information to hand0

I wasn't sure I could contact them directly?0 -
how did they get "passed the case" if you haven't spoken to them directly?0

I received an email from Motor Codes today informing me of their conclusion and a breakdown of events. They stated they have passed the case on to TS.0

Who the heck are "motor codes"?
The only reference I find is to a website not unlike the "good garage scheme".
Is this some sly spam advertising post?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Not spam mate, I started a new account because I couldn't get logged in on this one but now it's working.. Motor Codes are exactly what google says..

Be clear on what you instructed the garage to do for you, get it back on the road, or specifically, get and fit a new engine. Then, take them to court. "Motor Codes" is a shop front for SMMT and isn't going to actually do anything for you.0

Motor codes looks like a "good garage scheme" type affair, I agree with above, they probably won't do anything to help, because the garage you used will have paid to be on their site.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
