Standing Order paid to dissolved company

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on a situation with a standing order.
Last night my hot water/boiler stopped working. I was paying a standing order to a company called Central Heating Care Ltd in Nottingham. I tried to call them, all numbers listed "no longer exist" and when I investigate further it appears they have been having problems for a couple of years. (Winding up notices and dissolution etc.) So my question is, is there any way of getting back the £15 per month I have been paying to a non-existent company?
Thanks,
Kristy
PS This is my first post, I hope I haven't made any glaring errors...

It doesn't look too hopeful. Basically you're an unsecured creditor. Do you know if or when they ceased trading? If it's recently they could argue that you've been provided with the service (but you've never had to use it) so they don't actually owe you any money. If they ceased trading six months ago, then theoretically they owe you six months' worth of fees although you'll be hard pushed to get these back.
Cancel your standing order and try to find out who the administrators are and when trading ceased. Write to them asking for your fees back but expect to receive nothing."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
It doesn't look like they have gone into administration - I can't find any administrators appointed. They just seem to have given up trading. In this case I suspect it was a one man band who's stopped running the business.
Your money is probably lost, unless you can get in touch somehow.0 -
Its currently going to be struck off, its not being liquidated, according to Companies House by the looks of it for the lack of filings.
Its therefore fairly unclear what is happening. The company is registered to a residential address under the directorship of a Steven Turner at the same address.
You could contact your bank and see if they'll contact the recipient bank and see if ought can be done. If the target account has been closed theres a chance all the funds have been going into a suspense account and thus can be returned. If the business accounts are still open then the bank wont be willing to take their customers money away from them.0 -
Thanks for all your help. I will look into it but I'm not hopeful at all!
Cheers again,
