The OP is perhaps asking in the original post , because they plan to reduce their offer accordingly , and are hoping to use this as leverage...?
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

Recent Ofsted inspections have been changed, schools get 24 hours notice, and everything is scrutinised, so they are now a better reflection of he school as a whole.

House prices within a catchment area of an outstanding and over-subscribed school can often be MUCH higher, so the OP is applying comcmon sense rather than snobbery.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

How many people looking for housing in a particular area have children of the age to go to that particular school. there is only a small window of someone's buying life that they need a primary school or secondary school probably 10 years if you have two or three children, less if you have one!
You will be living as an adult in a house for up to about 70 years!

Some people with school age children hav a tendency to believe that the whole population thinks as they do and they don't.

"Everything" - that's debatable. Plenty of teachers don't get observed. Of my department this year, one third were observed by Ofsted.

It does not matter if you have no children and a prospective buyer has no children, if your house is in a catchment area for an excellent state school, then many people will be prepared to pay more for your house. And it will be more in demand. No one can deny that fact.
Of course, if you are talking about a one bedroom flat, then that is not going to be relevant, but a family sized house very near a good school, then why not?

Actually, most people dont live in a house for 70 years, they move for many reasons, maybe to downsize. etc. And 3 kids could easily mean 15 yrs of primary schooling....thats a long long time.

Although seeing as previous posts suggest OP has already exchanged, OP is perhaps simply lamenting the instant loss of value of their new purchase ...

There's actually no guarantee of getting into a particular school nowadays even if you do live right next door. ;)
