Morning All
Don't fall over in shock at 2 days in a row! :rotfl::rotfl:
Hilly & Bemused. Positive Vibes coming your way, hope the Oncologists visit is positive.
R-R. Hope the job hunting goes well, the Company we both worked for had constant peaks and troughs, which mean many redundancies at times, we were very lucky as we managed to escape, and each time we did then we had more years behind us for the next. They often happened at Xmas. Nice to know we cannot be made redundant from being retired now.
Yesterday was a bit of a non-event day, we went out shopping, B&M and then the car dealers to pick up something DH wanted for the car, and then Aldi, came home, unpacked  put away, sat down with a coffee and fell asleep, have not been sleeping until normal get up time due to the heat, and it caught up with me. Woke up, took some food stuff into the caravan, getting it ready for next week, emptied the food cupboard, cleaned the shelf and re-stocked, made our salad dinner, watch some catch up TV, and then went into the "office" to start some tidying, which is where I will be heading today.
We are out for the whole of August, Northampton first, for a rally, where I have a surprise visit to Bletchley Park organised for DH, Skye is staying with some friends for the day. Over to Lacock, then Wellington, Somerset, and 2 weeks in Penzance, before we meander home. Hope the weather holds, but the long range is looking a bit naff.

Take care everyone, ((hugs)), Spoons all round. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Hi all,
Had a crap night woke up on the hour. Had a "Why me?" moment at 5am. Buddy (my cat) came and snuggled up to me. OH was asleep, so never heard me. Fell a bit better this morning. Think reality has kicked in.:o
Going shopping and out to lunch today, so that will cheer me up. Also ordered a "Bling Crutch" from blingsticks. That'll makae me feel good:rotfl:
Anyway, enough misery, let's hope the sun shines today and we all have a good one!:TI Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
I'm up late this morning
Hugs for those that need or want one :grouphug:
I have rheumatoid arthritis and don't walk very well, so I'm admiring hilstep's bling! my stick is quite boring.
It's cooler here but we still have lovely warm air so it's a shame to waste it so I am scratching round for things to wash. My ironing mountain is down significantly, but is still big as I add to it daily
DH has taken two days off so we have a long weekend together, but it won't be much fun as he has to sort out paperwork - he's doing Probate following his mum's death and it's all a bit messy as somebody else in the family assumed control, ignoring what was written in the Will. Oh dear, families can be a bit funny, can't they.
Have as much fun as possible xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Lushlifesaver and TTFTM my washing machine is doing the same thing, I washed the drawer out recently so its not that but hubby reckons one of the valves have gone, I've been tipping softener directly into the drum on the clothes. Will let you know if he fixes it.
I scrub the draw out weekly so don't *think* it is likely to be that, flipping hoping the machine isn't on it's way out when we've just ordered the new fridge!
Julie I didn't think you could put softener in the drum directly with clothes (?) I might give that a try as I'm missing my clothes not having had any in the wash - and to think I never touched the stuff until I moved in with bf!************************************

Morning All,
Remedial thoughts to Hilly and Beemused and to all others who are recovering from illness.
Quite pleasant here at the minute, but rain expected later.
Very busy at work as a new version of an application has to be rolled out soon. I have the lovely task of notifying our 19,000 users that it's coming! No doubt numerous queries will be forthcoming. That will keep me out of mischief next week - Judi will enjoy the break! :rotfl:
Looking forward to lunch out with a former colleague. Then tonight my OH and I are out with friends at a charity event for Guide Dogs for the Blind (the things I do for Judi!).
Have a good day everyone. :beer:0 -
Morning everyone :j
Another bright and sunny day here so I shall be collecting up any stray washing and getting it out on the line this morning. Mr T will be delivering sometime this morning too and then I am going to be doing some baking with my grand daughter. I have some very manky bananas so we are going to have a go at banana and chocolate muffins. I am going to cut back on the fruit I buy as a lot of it is going to waste.
Hubby off to work and happy because it's a half day. I had a bit of a blub yesterday as I'm really missing him so I'm really looking forward to our weekend together with the girls. We are going to have a movie night on Saturday so I've stocked up on popcorn and snacks.
Operation clean the house is going well. I've made a list of chores and the girls have to get them done some time this morning. My grand daughter is 'supervising' and has got a check list to tick off. This really appeals to her bossy side, I have a mini dictator on my hands.:D I've already had an argument with DD12 about not emptying the litter tray. They wanted the evil kittens so they have to take responsibility for cleaning and feeding them. I don't mind doing it when they are in school but I don't see why I should have to do it and they all sit on their bottoms!
I have read of some peoples sad health news ( sorry I can't remember names very well) and would just like to say that you are in my prayers and I hope you make a full recovery. Also those whose employment is coming to an end, I hope you find another job quickly.
Take care and gentle hugs for all who would like one.
Cheers m'dears x
Litter tray.....we've had our latest cat for about 4 months now, after not having one for about 4 years. Eldest DD promised if we got a cat she' would clean the litter tray all the time.' Yeah, right.....'I will empty the litter tray occasionally after you've nagged a lot' might have been more honest!
Eldest DD's 17th birthday today, so I'm feeling quite old! I bought her 5 driving lessons, so she's out having her first one now. She was nervous when she went; I don't drive so she hasn't even had the experience of sitting in a car just watching. Hopefully, she'll come back with a smile on her face!
We're getting the train to Newcastle later...going to Primark for a few bits for our holiday and tea at Frankie and Benny's for a birthday treat.
Lovely sunny day here......lots of washing out drying:)0 -

Hi everyone. Looks like I'd better say whatever I need to pronto, if the Forum's going to be offline from 19:00 tonight.:o
Redruby sorry to hear you've been made redundant – it does sound like you're not sorry to see the back of the place though. Good luck with job-hunting; hope you find something quickly.:o
Hilstep (((HUGS))) I still get “why me?” moments – usually at 03:00 when the pain is keeping me awake and I don't like to disturb Mr LW to help me get some morphine, so I truly do understand how you're feeling. Different illness, but same feeling of injustice. Hang in there, mate.;)
Happy 17th Birthday to dp1's DD.
Sassy's gone home now – she was collected at noon; so roll on August 19th, when Patsy and Pandy will come and brighten up my rather dull existence!:o It's likely that Mr LW will want to go to the pub tonight – ostensibly to get me out of the house for a bit; but tbh, I hope he doesn't because I simply cba with going.:cool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

If you take the drawer out and look at the top you will see nozzles where the water comes out. I find these get 'bunged up' periodically and need cleaning out. I find that poking a wooden cocktail stick/or darning needle in the nozzles will get out any lime scale that is lurking.
I also thoroughly dry the drawer and surrounding area after every wash and this also helps.
