Damp proofing in Summer

I got my house last Nov and survey suggested I need to damp proofing one of the corner in my house. I could see wet patch in Dec/Jan but had no money to get it fixed. I've now got the money to get it fixed, but its summer and not sure if it right time of the year to get the work done?

Any pros or cons or getting damp proofing in summer!

Get a second opinion that its actually necessary first.

    Sarah,
generally you don't need 'damp proofing' works in a corner of a room
If a wall is affected by rising damp then usually more than just a corner will be affected.
If it is rising damp, the time of year is irrelevent for getting it fixed.

If the corners of the walls to be treated had mould growing on them in winter it is quite / very unlikely to be rising damp (mould will usually not grow on a wall affected by rising damp)

As keystone says get a second opinion :)

The advice I give on here is based on my many years in the preservation industry. I choose to remain anonymous, I have no desire to get work from anyone. No one can give 100% accurate advice on a forum if I get it wrong you'll get a sincere apology and that's all:D

It a 100+ year old Victorian house. The survey highlighted the corner facing towards the garden, part of which is the party wall.

As suggested I would get another opinion.

    Thanks.
