how the foof do you contact scottish power!

hi, ive just had a frustrating week trying to talk to a human being at Scottish power! (do they have any??)
OK background info.
we have just brought a house in scotland from a large estate, we are due to move in tomorrow!(friday) there is a electric key meter (Scottish power) . on the meter there is a large debt from when the house had a tenant over a year ago. there is no key in the meter although i am told the estate agent may have it.i dont know the account number (nor do the previous estate owners) and the house has no phone number. i have spent the last two weeks calling scottish power but because i have no account number i just get put in some continous loop with a robotic voice telling me to enter phone number or account number!! how the hell do i get a human on the end of the phonne to explain the situation s i can get some electric tomorrow for m family and very young children!! any ideas? or are we destined to live in the dark?
i would also like a normal meter but one thing at a time lol

ok quick update.
tried calling the new customer 0800 number and got nowhere! round and round the crap phone system!!! it just isnt geared up for anything that isnt a predefined question/answer,
So i did as i was asked on here and sent an email to the reps address, with a promise of a call back..............well sent mail and was then totaly shocked when my phone rang withing a couple of minuets!!! really nice and helpful guy from customer services who listened patiently to my tale of woe, before finally saying "it's late friday afternoon i cant get everything done for you today some will have to wait untill monday morning, but i can get your electric on!" apparently because of the previous debt left by the last people on the key meter a engineer would normaly be sent to reset the meter, but as i needed electric pretty swiftly he would go see what could be done and call back.
5 mins passed and he call back with a RTI number gave me the address of the nearest pay point and said go give them the number and the key and your sorted. went to said pay point gave number and key and £20 of my hard earned, 2 mins later walked away with a key bursting with £20 electric!!! SIMPLES
like i say it's a real shame they make it so hard to talk to theese people as once you get through they are really good at customer service. ok i know on here they sometimes get a hard time but so far my impression of them is really good and far better than i was expecting, so well donr Scottish Power and thanks for the help0 -
