I looked at talk talk today and they said I didn't have a compatable phone line
not best pleased as I've got a bt line !
Today I have moved £150 to my holiday spends fund. I now only need £100 and I've reached my budget. I know that holidays while trying to clear debts is frowned upon but we need something as a family to look forward too. We are camping in the isle of wight. Pitch and ferry cost less the £200 and pops is giving us the petrol money and £100 towards spends. The old national trust and British heritage membership will be beng abused!!!!! I've even picked up some 2for 1 zoo tickets. On the way back we are going to Lego land again 2for1. It would be a shame not to when we are down that way.
Tonight I'm teaching number1 about classic movies and making him watch Patrick swayze in road house. He I just 'slightly ' impressed apparently!
See y'all later

So had my call from Santander about my interest due back to me and they have calculated it at £40.00 and the !!!!!!s have taken of the monthly account fee despite originally saying they wouldn't
oh well at least its some money for me to throw at our debts.
Struggling with OH. His car has been declared off road (cant afford to run 2 cars) its not moved for a month and now only has 11 months MOt left on it. I've been asking him since it was declared off road to sell it (worth about £1250). he is dragging his heels. He did the same with his old car that sat on the drive for 6 month and was then only worth £110 scrap. I cant do anything with the car as it isn't mine!!! Short of locking him in the bloody thing i'm at a loss.
Budget wise it looks like I might have a spare £100.00 at the end of this month to pay off one of the debts. I'm a bit uncomfortable doing it till the end of the month just in case of an emergency. Although if I paid it of a credit card now and then needed it I could just use the card!!! OMG i'm so confused.
I feel like I need a coin chip like they give out at AA meetings for not using my credit card.
Today I would get my 1 week chip!!!

Ah Toothfairy - I am sorry S@ntander were being a pain and that your hubby is too!
Get him to sell the blooming thing!! GGGRRRR
I think you do need holidays. While it is great to get rid of your debts you need something to look forward to as a family or you will drive yourself mad! I think it is more motivating and puts you in a happier place which means you are going to be a more effective debt buster

Thanks Orange fairy. I was AWOL from my diary yesterday. Had a down day. One of those ones where you second guess yourself and get a touch of the old paranoia. My Moms is playing games with my child care again. My Pops says she does it to remind me how much of a mess i'd be in if I lost either of them. She is a very selfish woman, She manipulates every single situation so that those on the outside see her as the victim. People on the outside have no idea how much hard work she is. They think that im wrong for asking her to do my child care because shes 65. What they don't see is I cant afford child care because I'm still paying off debt that I've taken on for her. For example. I lent her my car when she lost hers. I was still paying the insurance, mot , tax as it was still my car and I drove it occasionally (once a month). She wrote it off!!!! She then asked me when I was getting a new car for her?? I bought a new car and gave her OH's old car (needed a 7 seater). She managed to not kill it for 2 yrs but I was still paying tax, insurance and mot, repairs, tyres ect as everytime she damaged it ect she would throw a wobbler cause a fight throw the keys at OH and threaten to not look after the kids, because shes a pensioner and cant afford a car:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
That car had to be scraped and I acquired a replacement for a couple of hundred quid. A really well looked after little car. High spec for its time. She managed to kill that in just under 2 years and wasn't worth spending the money to repair the bumpers, lights, door panel ect.
So that brings us to the car on the driveway. Bought to replace the last car she killed. she took it for a test drive and said it was fine so we agreed the private sale. The very next day she drove it and killed the clutch (no idea how as the AA man from down the road had checked it the day before). it cost me £450 to fix (don't forget this is her car that I pay for) and then because someone said she should drive an automatic as it would be easier on her shoulders she decided she couldn't drive it anymore and it just sits on our drive!!!!!!! Over all this little episode has cost me £2000 including the tax, insurance clutch ect and I will be lucky to get back £1000.
To add salt to the wounds she is now talking about getting a brand new little car with her PPI money that she is expecting back. she has gone to one of those reclaim companies and thinks shes gonna get a few grand. I think shes already spending like shes got the money in the bank. I also think she'll be lucky to get £50. And lest we forget that this is the loan that she couldn't pay back and I had to refinance in my name and take on for her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I say very often that one day my dad is gonna fess up that shes not my moms and that I am adopted!!!!!!!!
Coming back on track Holidays are coming holidays are coming holidays are coming and I nearly have all our spends :T:T:T:T:TOnly the Mortgage to go!!!0 -
Wow, sounds like you've gone through it with your Mum. What does your Dad say about it all? Have you put the figures in front of your mum and shown her how much she has cost u over the years and that her debts are the reason you can not afford to pay someone else for childcare?
Sorry that doesn't sound very helpful. I hope your having a better day today xTotal Debt at LBM - £19107.03Total now - £11091.220 -
Both my dad and I have been through it with her but she still doesn't see that she has a problem or that she is a t fault. I think ots one of the reasons the split. He was always working coz she was always spending. Dads gonna have a word with her again today. He's going to push the -well you realise that they will lose the house, she wont be eligible to work (bankrupts are deregistered) and they will end up living with you!!! can you imagine 6 of you in your tiny place!!!!!! That should do the trick

Today is much better and brighter. Oh is doing his last 14 hr day for a while and my boss has said we can have tomorrow off if there are no emergencies
Free lunch at work too

Gave DS1 his £20 school holiday allowance. Very proud of him, hes just rung me from the local town to say that there is a game he wants in the preowned section and would it be ok to go home and get some games to trade in so he doesn't have to use his spends. Definatly a chip off the MSE block just wish his fashion sense would too!!! I caught him going out in my shape up trainers again yesterday.........to much effort to go upstairs and get his own!!!!!!!!Only the Mortgage to go!!!0 -
Oh Tooth fairy - you really do have a tough time with your Mum. Sounds like you have been a fab daughter and should be very proud of that.
Well done on free work lunch and getting to take some home
Bless your DS - what a star. My DD1 was funny yesterday. I am challenging us to shop local for a month and not use the supermarkets at all. My mum was looking after them for the day and popped to tescos and DD1 questioned if she was allowed in there due to our challenge!! :rotfl:Orange Fairy

Bless her. Ds1 has his moments. He traded some in and managed to get 5 games for £15. It's gonna keep him busy for most of the holidays.
I'm off on Monday and dad is still having the kids. Ds1and I are gonna ride the 13 mile route to my work and see if I can do it on a regular basis. Think about saving the petrol pennies.
Ds2 & ds3 are tucked up in bed shattered by the heat. Ds1 is cooking tea and I'm catching up on sky plus
