3 ignored parking charges later....

Hi all
I've written before about this but I'm getting a little concerned and I wanted some reassurance I'm doing the right thing.
We've had three charges for parking on a road in an area for residents only but we were not the only ones parking there! The company PCManagement only tickets when they feel like it if your parked a metre this way or that, claiming that the photo evidence clearly shows the sign in the background. We've parked there for almost a year and they have always left cars in certain areas alone as I believe they knew they didn't have a leg to stand on if they issued fines to everybody. Our tickets came because of leaving a gap to the car in front or one of the wheels over grass etc.
(Incidentally, they painted double yellow lines everywhere to prevent anyone parking there again and it's now worked).
I took advise, sent 1 letter stating that I would not be paying (after the 28 days elapsed). I read all the stuff prior to the October 2012 changes, then realised the differences in Registered keeper.
We are onto our third debt collector letter for each of the three fines and I feel I should continue ignoring it until IF they call for a court session. If/when that happens, what do I do next? I've explained why we will not be paying, so do I offer a pound a month or settle £150 plus fees per ticket if it goes go to court? How persistent are they and how many letters arrive before they give up?
Many thanks for all replies in advance..!

Private road by any chance. If so, those double yellow lines are just for decoration.

PCM are ex-clampers and send lots of letters, all junk mail but keep it just in case they try a small claim (rare but defendable).
Next time you get one, come back here to learn how to challenge it and win at POPLA. Involves waiting for the first letter then appealing with certain wording.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
