Hi Guys,
Hoping you can help. I've recently (as in within the last week) bought a house and arranged a mortgage with Halifax. I've decided that I'd like to get a credit card with 0% for purchases so I can decorate and furnish.
I figured I'd go with Halifax as they were good enough to give me a mortgage. So I've found a card that offers 0% for 15 months on purchases. I went through the usual application process and digitally signed the credit agreement with an agreed limit of £1,500. However at the end they've said that I need to take proof of ID into a branch... is this a bad sign? I could really do with the dosh at the minute as my house is empty lol!
Also problem number 2... As I mentioned above I've JUST moved house, and the only thing I have with my new house on it is a letter from Sky TV confirming my install, however I do have all the documents from Halifax regarding my mortgage... Will any of this do? I'm worried about messing my application up!
Any help would be great! _pale_

Regarding your credit card. Its fine that you have to go and show ID, it'll just be because you've recently moved house and your not on the electoral roll yet.0

Hope you have more luck than me. I applied for a Halifax Clarity card & received an email asking me to take documents into a branch as proof of ID etc.
First off the cashier claimed that I had to go through everything again in branch, then she decided that a form was needed to attach the photocopied documents to. She couldn't find said form!
Eventually a colleague told her that she needed to print a form off & complete it. This was done. About a week later I received another email & a text message reminding me to take ID paperwork into a branch.
I did this again, & explained the problems I had first time around. I was promised that this time everything would go through OK :j
About a week later.... (yes, you know the rest!).
I gave up after that :mad:Going down the Oteley Road to see the Shrewsbury aces! :T0
