Oh I forgot to add that I am off to buy some paint later to do up my 2nd bedroom... I have a 17 yr old moving in with me at the end of next week via a social services placement (similar to fostering) and although I know this won't be a pice of cake, her enthusiasm is catching and infectious...
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

thanks, i think i'll have a couple of months off where i spend my disposable income on me but after that it's hard on the saving. I did get a martgage where i can overpay but at 25 i'm not in a major rush for it. chances are in two years or so i'll be taking on a much bigger mortgage for a bigger place but at least i'll be in a much better financial position for it.

Good for you gal! We all deserve a treat/ break from the hard slog and at least you have a plan for the future. A very envious position to be in!

I am a year older than you and congratulations for getting on the property ladder, I know how hard it is.

You deserve a few months break so have a virtual drink on me

My mortgage is interest only as this way it tough times I get to pay less and I can still over pay by 10% of the total mortgage each year which is way more than I can afford to overpay by. I really cant wait to make my first OP as my ex thought I was mad suggesting something like that.

Congratulations LJ :T I bet it feels fantastic to be so near.

I have been through our budget and even though we have bought some stuff for the house and generally keep falling off the wagon :o , if we are good and stick to our snowball we can still be debt free for my 40th :T
