Hi Can anyone suggest what I can do with my Epson sx425w printer. Its saying that it does n t recognise the magenta ink and to replace. Well I ve done that and it still does n t recognise it. Yet these inks are the ones ive always used without a problem before.

Funny thing is my printing comes out in black and magenta only. Thanks

  • Epson printers do play silly games with compats, so this is quite common, changing the cartridge will often cure this, if it doesn't recognise the new cartridge then take it out and re install it, sometimes you need to be persistent, if it still doesn't go after a couple of attempts you may need to bite the bullet and try an original, we've seen quite a few newer Epson printers lately that refuse to take a full set of compatibles, usually having one original cures the problem, it's all down to firmware updates (never accept) and non Epson chips.

I bet it would work if you put an original Epson magenta in, like I said, Epson are known to play silly !!!!!!s, though to be fair most printer manufacturers are these days, the only problem free printers are Brother as they have not electrics in the cartridge so the machine doesn't know it's an compatible, however, even Brother are moving towards chips in the cartridge.
