Injured in car accident but also lost job
Options
I was injured last year in a car accident which ended up with me losing my job due to failing the probationary period through sickness. I'd only been working there for a month but I had a neck, shoulder, hand, back and a knee injury. Several attempts to go back to work ended with me being sent home as I was struggling and couldn't do my manual job.
The other party admitted liability. However one injury was to my knee and after seeing a solicitor and their choice of medical expert, I'm being told that all the accident did to to my knee is make an injury start at least two years sooner than it should have so there's not a lot that can be done about it claim wise. Their expert had a copy of my MRI scan.
I have had an operation to remove some of cartilage from my knee and loose floating objects (Loose cartilage). The knee is still not right so needs to be looked at again soon.
Why can't I claim for this even if I did have the injury? I had no issues before and started having issues as soon as the accident occurred. If I didn't have the accident but developed the symptoms 2 years or later, my job would have been safe with taking time off sick. I'm just really confused and thinking is it time to seek another legal professional? Any recommendations please if so?
