Hi just wondered how you recyle bath water from a bungalow , as our pipe is obviously on the ground level going straight to drain and I wondered how you get round this if you can?
thank-you
If the pipe goes straight into the ground inside the house its not easy. If it goes into a drain outside the house you could fit a diverter valve.

One other way would be to connect a drill pump up to a garden hose and pump it out.

Thanks a lot for the links I really appreciate your help.0

found the diverter really interesting as we are currently having our pipework replaced due to having an new bathroom fitted, after weeks of putting a black bun under to collect the water I am now missing the grey water that I was using to water the potatoes and gooseberries.
thanks

I redeemed some nectar points and got myself a bathwater siphon.
You stick it in the water, put the pipe out of the window and attach it to a hose, squeeze the pump a few times and voila! The water can got into a butt (but must be used within 24 hours) or it goes straight on the garden. Very handy.

We use the Draper drill pump too. An advantage of that over any kind of syphon is that the water can be fed straight into a fairly long, normal hosepipe and then the water can be directed straight onto the ground where you want it to go. Saves mucking about with barrels, butts or watering cans and carrying.0

Kay Peel - Sorry if the answer is obvious. But why do you have to use the bath water that goes into the water but within 24 hours?Proud to be dealing with my debts ONE day at a timeStopped smoking 25.05.07 - Saving £7.80 a day:j Successfully claimed bank charges of £2598.39 as of 1st June 2007:j0

If you check the link that "alanobrien" gave earlier, there are some good explanations on how long to keep it & on what you should use it for. Look towards the bottom, read that bit & then follow the link to "greywater filter" for more.alanobrien wrote: »Typical diverter valve
