You paid the deposit in cash? DId you, any of you, get a signed receipt?
I'm not sure, I certainly didn't get anything, I'll ask the lead tenant if she got one.
We didn't get any sort of receipt for the rent though, they just asked us for 3 post dated cheques each when we paid the deposit the November before we moved in. So I imagine we won't have got anything for the deposit either since it was done at the same time0 -
Is there any reference to the deposit in the rental contract, at all?
Any reference in any of the letters written after the contract started?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Lesson for next time:
If the tenancy/inventory says there is a toaster, kettle and such but there isn't, make sure before you sign it, you have it changed.
One of mine said there was a washing machine, but I had asked for that to be removed, so they changed the inventory there and then. However they did fail to give the LL the new inventory...0
