206 Misfire Codes Read

Options
I've had the diagnostics codes read on my 206 by another garage regarding the random misfire.

P0108 Manifold pressure circuit high
P0113 Inlet air temperature sensor circuit
P1327 Registration of intergrated ignition phase
P0300 Random/multiple misfire detected

Garage said it could be too many reasons and told me to just carry on using car and let the problem develop more before bringing it back. I don't know how much more developing it can do as it is doing it on and off every time I drive the car now.

Either way it looks like a £300+ bill to get sorted like what the first garage quoted. That on top of the £400 for the head gasket leak.

Sorry, no idea... is there a peugeot/206 forum that's not full of people who only want to cut the springs out of them and hang fluffy toys off the tow hook? They might be able to help.

Find yourself another garage. Keep driving it until the everything destroys itself and you need a new car. Brilliant advice there.

If the headgasket is leaking then that could explain several of the codes.

Have they done a proper diagnostic to show the gasket is leaking?

What tests have you had done and what were the results?

Only 206 forum I know of is mostly geared towards modding where they usually scrap if anything mechanical ever needs doing. :rotfl:

This second garage that told me to wait and see if it gets worse just used a code reader as far as I know. Don't even think they lifted the bonnet as they never mentioned the head gasket leak to me. I had to leave the car there as they couldn't do it straight away.

The first garage just wanted to replace all the injectors for £350 and do the head gasket for £400 but never said if the problems were linked.

If you have low compression one one or more cylinders or a bit of water making its way into the combustion chamber then you will get misfires.

You need a proper mechanic not someome who can operate a calculator and insert 2 + 2 and get 5 for the answer.

Just because it says its a misfire doesnt say what is causing it. Eg. petrol engine, Faulty sparkplug, Coilpack or lead, Trigger mechanism for the spark, Low compression due to a worn engine, Oil contamination from a worn engine or just valve seals.

Proper diagnostic is needed where they open the bonnet and get their hands dirty.
