That comment from another thread links to our present situation.

We are looking to replace our 12 y.o. freezer, a Kupperbusch, which in reality is a badged Whirlpool group item. John Lewis has two integrated freezers listed, an own brand (believed actually to be AEG/ Electrolux) and a Neff.

Will the difference in hinge design, should we choose the Neff, raise any problem, when fitting the freezer carcass to the "furniture" doors?

More generally, for a retired couple, what features are more imortant, which make is best for reliability and vfm?

Thank you in anticipation of your help. :)

JL appliances are made by AEG (Electrolux).

Frost free would save a lot of hassle in defrosting the freezer periodically.

I'm not sure how reliable Neff freezers are - others may be able to comment. They are part of the Bosch/Siemens group but not sure if the standard of manufacture is the same. Bosch/Siemens Fridge-Freezers tend to be quite expensive.

I was told the frost free under counter integrated freezers are not frequent. FWIW the JL one has 50% greater 24 hour freezing capacity than the Neff, but the running costs are 28% higher too.
