Damage Deposit

Hi - just wanting thoughts on how to pay damage deposit....
I have to pay 300 euro damage deposit for apartment in Barcelona this weekend. The lady thought that she would have a VISA machine, but it has not been set up in time. My options are cash or Paypal. I'm not bothered about having a lot of euros spare because I'm going away again soon so will spend them (I would take out cash using Santander Zero card so no charges and good rate).
Is the risk of the lady not giving back my euros worth the Paypal charges? And if I disputed any charges then would I actually have any chance of getting it back via Paypal?
Thanks for thoughts!

I don't think there'd be any charges with Paypal if the landlord simply refunded the payment after your stay0

Do they not charge you to send and receive the money in the first place? And then to transfer the received cash from Paypal balance into bank account?0

They shouldn't do if the return is done as a refund of the original rather than separate transactions.
The recipient is charged a fee for receiving the payment, but this will be refunded to them if they refund to you.
I think they only charge bank fees with small amounts or speedy transfers.
Thinking about it, you may get hit with the exchange rate, not sure0 -
Gosh it's confusing!0

Wouldn't she give you your cash back before you leave? If she refuses to, you refuse to leave, seems far more straightforward than Paypal.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Not sure how refusing to leave would work if a flight is booked a few hours later.
