supposed to be ok, not great...I like the brown colour, but that's about the best can be said of them, I think...
From what I've read, you're probably better off getting yourself a Creative Zen Mision M...gets top reviews all over the place.
This seems to have a pretty comprehensive comparison of the specs of the main contenders:

yeah....zen plays wma, mp3, wmv, mp4, divX etc etc, so it's really rare you'd need to convert anything.

I hate itunes too, but the Zen steers clear of all that stuff...it can be set up as a mass storage device. (like a removable harddrive)
(I have a feeling there's a size limit on how much you can do this for though....16gbiirc - don't know if firmwear updates increase this..)

So you stick it in, it pops up in "my computer" and you can drag and drop.

You can synch in media player etc if you want, but you don't have to.

Even if you chose to install the creative software, what you get is "zen whatnot" pop up in my computer, you double click on that and it comes up with a special menu. You just click "add media to device" or something, select the ones you want, then add them. Job done.

Also, this is another good place to compare Zune to its rivals.

Personally I prefer the ipod. My first mp3 player was a creative but it really didn't compare to the ipod nano I got a year later (the creative broke).

I'm the opposite to the above, ditched my ipod in favour of a creative and have never looked back. Easy to use and no need to install anything, just drag and drop. I think it all comes down to personal preference in the end.
