DWP/~ATOS result

I had interview with ATOS mid-June and hadn't heard result. I rang ATOS and they said they'd said I'd passed and they didn't need to assess me again for 18 months, which is when I get my state pension.
Called DWP and asked why I hadn't been told, they said they'd tried to phone me end June but not got an answer. They say I've been put into WR group.
Don't understand why they didn't write to me, if I appeal how long do I have now?
Also, if ATOS don't want to assess me again, doesn't that mean I shouldn't be in work group. The DWP on phone said I may have to go to meetings. I was in bed days after ATOS interview recovering.
Do I still need to send in medical certificates from GP?
I'd be grateful for any advice.

Hi Lello7
If you have been placed in WRAG group, then yes you will have to go to Work focused interviews as and when they wish you to attend, but it should only be 6 in total. However, you obviously have problems if you ended up I bed for days after the ATOS WCA back in June. Normally when you get the letter telling you the result of the Medical/award, then you should have 30 days to appeal the decision, but as they failed to send you that letter, then you need to appeal now using a GL24 form stating why there is a late appeal. I assume that you believe you should qualify for the Support group? You also need a copy of the ESA85 that ATOS send to the DWP to see why they put you in WRAG. So ring them up and ask for it to be sent out.
You do not need to send in any more Fit notes as you have been found unfit for work.

This link give the ESA descriptors, so if you click on it see what if any in the Support group may cover you.0 -

The absolute time limit after a decision is 13 months to appeal it.
However - this limit does not start to run, until the decision is notified.
If the letter was not sent (it does not matter if it was recerived - as long as it was sent to the address on your file) then the clock does not start to run.0 -
Thank you for your replies, that's helped me work out what to do next.
I'm trying to get an appointment with CAB as they helped with my forms, they did say if I was put in WRAG I should appeal. I'll try to get the report from DWP too.
thanks again.0
