Evening
I have arranged to Pt Ex my car for a new one, but not sure if I am allowed to reclaim my Car Tax. It has around £150 left on this, as the garage asked how long it had left.
Am I entitled to do this or does it depend on what the garage says?

It's yours to reclaim, the garage can't but they could sell it taxed.
What did you agree with them?0 -
There was no agreement. They were looking to match a competitor and simply took mileage and also asked how long left on Tax and checked the tax disk, but no formal agreement.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0

It depends whether the tax was agreed to be part of the sale, which I'd personally take to be assumed as they asked what was left. If you'd wanted to get a refund for this you should have said so at that point IMHO.0

Ok - just thought I'd ask as over £250 extras to the price we agreed have been added, Eg delivery, their insurance for 7 days etc.
This could have been a way to recoup some of the money.

Take it off its yours.
Treat it as a receipt of payment and return it for a refund.0 -
I will suggest this to the garage, seeing as I have been treat so badly by them and I feel tricked. I feel they saw the single female with a bald head (my chemo leaves a lasting sign) and took me for a fool.
However, if they insist and in recognition I did not ask prior then I will honour this as life is too short to feel you have tricked someone. They may not have scruples but I have and I'd rather hold my head high than feel I dishonoured an agreement.
I will mention it though and see the response.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0
