Savvy - have you by any chance eaten some Linda McCartney?
Why I ask is hubby had an extreme allergic reaction to some LM burgers that he'd eaten many times before - had to call 999.
I noticed you'd either wombled or bought - food for thought?
They must have changed the formulation - we no longer buy.0 -

Dial 111
Ummm, I had considered it but didn't think I needed medical 'help'. In any event I couldn't have dialled anything as I was totally unable to even move to the phone. My thought in the situation was to dial 999 but I wasn't experiencing chest pains, so I decided not to do so.
The 111 service has been in the news recently. My experience with the previous non-emergency service (I haven't had cause to dial 111 at this point and I think I've solved the situation myself - will see how I go) was generally positive. Although in my current situation, telephone advice (of any sort) isn't a substitute for being properly seen by a doctor as you'd need to examine me to decide what to do.0 -

I don't think it's food related. I haven't consumed any of the Linda McCartney since I bought it yesterday. It definitely seems related to the tablets - it's only started since I started then. I'm not normally one to have food allergies - none that I am aware of anyway. I'll see how those Linda McCartney sausages play with me - although I think I'll be absolutely fine with them.
The only thing I've been found allergic to is the tetanus vaccine - though that's animal related and not anything to do with vegetarian material. I've no idea about goat's milk as I have never consumed it in my life. Not from anything against it - just that cow's milk has always been fine enough for me. (How would I ever know, unless I did and, if I did and was, only then would the problem become apparent.)0 -

Savvybuyer wrote: »Good morning:) - I'm taking it easy this morning after a possible allergic reaction to my tablets in the latter part of overnight, left me moving involuntarily in the room, unable to lie down instead jumped up (again involutarily) and forced me to lie face down into the top of the duvet, then just almost paralysed, certainly unable to get the computer or do anything on here (that the least of my worries). Felt extremely nauseaous before that, did stand over the sink and wasn't actually sick. And left panting out for breath.
Not very nice - I'm wondering whether it's triggered some sort of photosensitivity though I'm not sure how I'd then be caused a seizure as I wasn't exposed to anything flickering and it doesn't seem to me to tie in with what happens to people having seizures or convulsions. I don't have epilepsy, have never had epilepsy and haven't experienced a seizure (unless this episode, early this morning, was) but I do have a form of autism and sometimes perhaps there are linkages between the two - a larger percentage of autistic people than the general population also experience epileptic seizures although I'm not one of them.
Anyway, having intended to write four lines, I've written two whole paragraphs. What I've done is lower the dose of my tablets but taking them more often (but still leaving at least the minimum period, and more than likely a bit longer, that the leaflet says you have to wait), done without doctor's advice:eek: as it's impossible to see the doctor now it's Saturday. I don't know whether it's something that might be set off suddenly (a very great worry if I'm travelling) or whether it's related to certain times of the day, as seems to be the case as the previous night, overnight, was particularly bad as well. Yet I was fine all day and, albeit a little achy, fine now. It may, instead of being a reaction to the tablets, be the opposite - that the tablets had worn off by late late night and therefore it's actually not having a dose that's caused the problem - I'll see my doctor if it persists or gets worse - though I'd taken the exact dose (and no less and no more) the doctor had prescribed and wasn't due another dose till breakfast-time, which I've now had half of, and going to have another this afternoon, to top up the earlier one to the amount the doctor had prescribed.
I don't normally go altering doctor's advice or ignoring it - I follow instructions to absolute exactness, even where that leads to an absurdity or conflicts with other instructions (that then gets me into a right confusion) - but then I don't normally experience problems from medication.
As to the Mullers, perhaps buy, for example, 3x Vanilla Light, 2x Vanilla Chocolate Light, 3x Peach/Apricot corner, 2x Red Cherry corner plus fillers?
Will that then take off the full discounts (two of them) for the '10 for £4' but do so from £3.40 (34p x10)??? Thus costing 60p for 10 Mullers not £4. (34p x10 - £2.37-43p.) Will it then compare from 68p each on the APG or 34p each? Even if the latter, does this, unless I am missing something, mean pay 60p for the Mullers (total price for all 10), as scanning through at half price yet still taking the multibuy savings off, then, as M is 34p each, 3.4px 10 =34p off as 10% cheaper. Total cost 26p for 10 Mullers:money: (plus the cost of the fillers at 10% cheaper than M's price as applicable). I feel I'm missing something.
It seems some items instore - and it's up to us to find them! - are scanning at half price. Is this only Mullers in ex-Nettos? Yesterday, I bought, in a main store, the Garnier Clean & Fresh Toner (200ml) which went through at £1.50 (unexpectedly as I discovered later) but then :(didn't give the 3 for £6 multibuy at all (combined with two other items mix and match). Is A's price computer for the instore prices malfunctioning today?
Are those Mullers scanning at 34p in main stores or just ex-Nettos?
Hope you start to feel more like yourself soon Savvy x

Morning all
:rotfl: that's because I came to the party late and everyone else had gone bed!!
It's hard to talk to yourself
I couldn't keep up with the tunes either, there was so many of them.
Speaking of which, DM what did you do to Savvy? He went from reluctantly putting on one to adding a whole bag full of 20ps worth
Those weren't 20ps. They were at least a pound each and worth far more than that. All of them quality (in my view of course!).0 -
Hubby had never had a food allergy either but after the episode with the LM he had a few more - almost like it sensitised him - he now has to carry an Epipen everywhere. It started before he'd finished his meal. I just re-read & it was middle of the night for you.
Had you just taken your tabs? - in which case you need to see your doc urgently, you need to see them as a matter of urgency anyway.
Allergic reaction to drugs is not nice - happens too often - hope you get it sorted quickly.
Listen to your body & if it happens again please stop taking them & call doc or NHS direct at least.
Take care0 -

Oh, gosh, I wouldn't want to feel like myself!!:rotfl:
If it does the trick, i.e. makes me feel alright and doesn't cause me any problems, I'll stick with what I'm now on. (If I feel poorly on that, I'll go back to the original amount and frequency.) I'll seek advice if the possible side-effects persist or become worse.
Pragmatic approach I feel. (For once in my life:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.)0 -

I don't think the tablets have an immediate effect. This was six hours after I'd last taken them (I'm supposed to have them twice a day - so should be okay, as that'd imply roughly 12 hours between each).
I'll go straight to the docs if I have this reaction again - certainly anything like that severity. I could hardly not have listened to my body when it was having the reaction it was.0 -
Savvybuyer wrote: »Many thanks, bang on cue! I'd forgotten about this (I think I later scrapped it as the competitor we were to compare to increased its price). I'll go and have a look at whether it's gone back so that it's now the right time to do this.
