  • A question that I hope someone can answer? If you buy reduced products in Sainsburys - do the reduced ones compare (as bl..dy Tescos do) or as Asda thankfully do?

I also would like a smartphone - one that I can use on MSM app to get cashback. I don't use a mobile hardly at all eg. a £50 PAYG top-up lasted me 11 years!!! I assume that wi-fi comes free on PAYG but I stand to be corrected. I just want more cashback options.

I like it - avoid the McVities Jaffa Cakes 15 pack that are £1.00 in Sains - and buy the McVities Jaffa Cakes 24 pack £2.20 instead:rotfl::rotfl: (vs A £1.00)! (And half price msm perhaps back off S's price?)

Buy the reduced Sains own brands and then you never have any problem!

If you buy say, a whoopsied branded bread though, e.g. Kingsmill, I've always thought it might compare vs your competitor's higher price (assuming they stock it! - and, as whoopsies can be a bit random, I often don't know whether the rival has that product and at what price - inevitably more expensive than the whoops price I'm buying in Sains - so keep reduced branded items separate. Unless they're cookery stuff, clothing, non-grocery, batteries etc. Or unless they're brands I'm using as fillers to get the £20 that I know to be good offers in Sains and not available in the competitor I'm comparing against. You can spot these on my Svs A list* - for those vs A anyway!)

Also don't forget BM does not apply in Sains Locals, Centrals etc. and at certain main stores in the country (that don't have the technical capability to operate it - these are a few stores and they aren't concentrated in any particular locality of the country - check the T&Cs on Sains website).

[Edit: in fact reduced item products do appear at the reduced price on your comparison, but return N/A for the competitor when they are own brands! So BM does pick up the price you paid - which doesn't matter if they are then treated as non-comparable under the BM scheme.]

*They're all the branded products that show A as N/A. "Branded product" = those without Sains. name in them.

Remember the bogofs/m'buys that Sains has may help you if you're trying to limit your BM amount due to getting a quite a few Oxos. But, if you get the Bavaria, for instance, £3.00 in S and £1.00 in A, that doesn't leave as many Oxos left to compare vs.

I know the above is stating the obvious.:D
(Might not have been obvious to you!)

    Okay - I think I've covered everything:rotfl::rotfl::D - I'll see you later.

    ...Actually I haven't:
Silver Spoon Orange or Strawberry Buttons (100g)
A 70p vs 50p T. (T showing oos on one of these for me signed in though, so check signed out is showing in stock on the one(s) you're buying.)

Finally, for the other way - Tvs A - the S vs A list may also provide some options (check msm.co.uk to see if there are T prices then check on a.com, which T uses rather than msm to compare).

I'll see you later!! Bye now!:):)

I was right in adding that bit then!:)

The Oxos - Svs A, it's if you can't get them in A. Otherwise, why spend an extra £10+ on fillers when you could simply have gone to A and got just the Oxos (and nothing more) for 12p each? And you aren't limited to just 8 or 9 of them if you find more that than number of them in A.

I've no idea whether my A stocks them or not - not having had cause yet to travel to there. (I always seem never to have much luck finding these things in my stores. They didn't have the 50p matte styling stuff, or the 1p baby wipes. Nor the Persil washing up liquids at 30p odd. Nothing. None of it:(:(:(. So I'm almost certainly right in picking them up, very very easily, in my Sains. not very far away - and I've got enough for my house now so no more BM shops, till just before 2 wk period is up:D.) See you!!:):):)

[Lights out, back up my stairs!]

Wi-fi doesn't come free, I'm afraid. Cheapest PAYG for wifi I found was Talkmobile PAYG Essentials (if you get the vodafone network). If you've wifi at home/work/or use places like coffeeshops, Wetherspoons, etc. you can use that for free.
Works fine but I'm so MSE I never use internet unless I'm in a free wifi area.

A few pounds last me months on this and no contracts. I got my phone separately (a £100 Huawei Ascend) but there's cheaper.
