Claiming from the council

Today I had the pleasure of gaining a puncture from a central reservation bolt.
Not only did it ruin the tyre but has also gone through the wheel (which isn't repairable) resulting in a replacement required for both. Around £550.
Do I have a leg to stand on here or is it tough luck?

Where there is blame there is a claim, however was it reported to the HA , to allow them time to rectify the problem?
If not, then they may not be deemed liable.

If you can show they acted unreasonable then yes but tbh, I wouldn't waste your breath.

Take pictures and make a freedom of information request. If it shows they knew about this problem, or similar problems on the same road, then you can use that to make a claim

Can you elaborate OP, was he bolt lying loose in the road or was it sticking up from the road? How did you come to be so close to the central reservation that you came into contact with this bolt?
