39 year old 'creepy old guy' causes Taylor Swift to cancel a comp

A competition offering the chance to have a picture taken with Taylor Swift backstage at one of her concerts has been cancelled because online communities 4chan and Reddit conspired to ensure a "fat old guy" named Charles would win.

The 'Taylor Swift's Biggest Fan Contest', was being run by Boston, USA's Kiss 108 FM. The competition was hijacked when a 4chan user appealed to members of the online community to help Charles – whom he describes as a friend – win the vote.

The anonymous user wrote: "My creepy 39-year-old friend named Charles would like to crush all those girls' dreams (and then sniff Taylor Swift's hair cos he's into that) by winning this instead… Help him crush the dreams of these girls and give him a chance to make a complete !!! of himself by blatantly just sniffing her hair with the cameras rolling."

Last year, a competition offering a school a chance to have Swift come and perform was won by a school for the deaf, thanks to 4chan. :rotfl:

He's as much of a 'fan' (if not more of one, lol!) as the other entrants, so why shouldn't he have won? Just because he's not a tween girl or especially nice to look at?

Another 4chan victory lol No different from vote for me pleas on any forum including this one. Very funny. Not sure about the sniffing hair bit which is a bit creepy but then I find wanting to meet Taylor Swift a bit odd lol Now meeting Prof Brian Cox is a different story....

I don't understand why to be considered a Taylor Swift fan, you have to be a tween or a teeny bopper and from what I've seen, so much !!!!!yness went on from the tweens after Charles was getting loads of votes.

The voting also extended to other communities after the news of what was going on spread.

I personally voted as a "being a fan of a band/singer shouldn't be age-limited" kind of thing.

I always thought a celeb "meet and greet" prize was like a line up

All the winners stand in a group, celeb gets walked over, says "Hi, congratulation", a couple of photos are maybe taken, if the celeb's management allows it.

And that's that.

Not quite sure why "creepy guy" would be a problem in that scenario?

That's quite the ultimate "vote for me" post though!

From what I read it was done to make Charles's dream come true, but you don't seem to think he's entitled to fulfill it for some reason
