    I've done it before

Why not just read the relevant TCs?

Others have done it, but they may have changed the Ts & Cs since then, it's worth a thorough read before booking.

This has come up before on MSE and the reports are that it possible (depending on T&Cs) but it is recommended that you let the operator know that you won't be using the accommodation or transfers so that they don't send out a search party looking for you and or cancel your return flight.

Tell the package operator, but the most important person to be aware of your intentions is the tour rep when you land.

I wouldn't rely [absolutely] on the message getting through from HQ to the pit-face, so make sure you catch the reps attention once you're in arrivals. She'll be busy, so it might even be worth scribbling her a note with your intention.

Depending on what time your flight arrives [delays happen!] it might even be worth staying the first night at the package hotel.
