advice/pension/student loans

hi guys we are in a bit of a mess, and im not well, and am facing that i may have to take early retirement in which case my work pension only be about £6000 a year, only 54 so no state pension for many a long year. my husband is a (mature) student gets student loans and small bursary totally about £6000 also. our mortgage is £545 a month but having to go for voluntary repossession soon, rent will be about £450 i expect. does anyone know if we would be entitled to any sort of top-up benefits or housing benefit on this level of income please?

  • Contact your local authority, they will be able to advise you regarding housing benefits. It is impossible to advise you on the amount you will receive without knowing a lot more about your personal circumstances.
