I used Wickes chipboard boards. They were cheaper than the B&Q ones when I did it.

Depending on the layout of your loft, you may find yourself doing a lot of sawing to get the boards to fit around the beams.

To fix them, I drilled pilot holes through the board, then screwed them down.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

the joists in the loft are ceiling joists ie just to hold up the ceiling below, so there shouldn't be any cables or pipes drilled through them they aren't normally big enough to drill
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

echo above, the cables or pipes will most likely just run across the top of the joists, (if thgere are any), don't be tempted to notch them in, you are adding extra weight so certainly don't want to weaken them
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

lol, nice. Can you send me the screwfix catalogue number for one of these :)

If you are using T&G boards, as others have said, mo need to fix them down in fact you'll probably be happy you didn't one day.
Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!

There shouldn't be, but some people do, so it is worth checking.
