Help! Australian speeding fine!

Just received a traffic infringement notice from Western Australia! The offence was in December 2006 and apparently for doing 99kmh in a 90kmh zone in the outback! (thats 61 mph in a 56mph zone on a road with virtually no cars and the size of a dual carriageway!)
Am I the first forum member to get one of these?? Its a fixed penalty of $50 but theres no way to pay it online. It can only be paid by credit details return in the post or by cheque! Can anyone advise me on whether 6mths is too long for them to now prosecute me? What should i do? Pay up or contest it?
thanks Embarassed

Poor you,My mother, father and brother went to Australia about 5 years ago and they recieved one similar, think they just paid the fine  even though really they could not prove who was driving(could have been any of the three).
I'm not sure how they went about paying it but I just wanted to say poor you and good luck.Mfit member no 13 original balance £44000

were you in Western Australia at the time? (know its a stupid question but if you can prove you weren't then you won't have a problem)
When you consider the length of time it takes British police to get hold of fines from oversea's drivers, 6 months is very efficient
I wouldn't have thought the timescale will be a mitigating factor as they will need to have waited for the camera to have been checked (which is the outback wouldn't be on a daily basis), the hire company to get back to them as to who was driving, our police to check that you were who you said you are and then the week for Royal Mail to deliver the letterDebt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO0 -
Yep Western Australia! They are very proactive on drink driving which is good and do like their traffic enforcement. Theres a grainy pic of the hire car and me looking good with my shades on so fair cop! Just need to send $50 to Oz now!Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

i'd pay up (though it's not particuarly easy by the sound of it). last thing you want is to be blacklisted if you ever wanted to go again, their immigration control is pretty strict0

The fine will end up with the hire company who'll pay it then charge you plus an admin fee so if you want to save money I'd find a way of paying it now0

Hello Bob, I found this option online. I hope it helps, if not sorry.

I "think" this might be the online payment option
