Manufacturers Warranty - Faulty Washer?

Hiya,
My husband and I bought a Bush washer from Argos around August 2011. Within the first year we had the engineer out twice. The first call out was pretty much straight away. The drum had gone and had to be replaced. The second time round the washer wasn't draining.
A few weeks ago a paddle snapped off, we put it down to fair wear and tear, purchased a new one and replaced it. This Monday I was doing a wash load and it sounded like there was a hammer in it and my microwave nearly ended up on the floor! After removing my washing 2 more paddles snapped off.
I contacted the customer services number who put me through to Argos. The said we would need an independent report and to send it on to head office because the warranty had ended.
I contacted a plumber, I explained everything and he said it sounds like the drum has gone again, it would cost more than the washer is worth to fix and that he wouldn't do the report as he didn't want to get involved. I asked if he could recommend anyone who would and he said I'd be lucky to get anyone that would.
I have just rang Argos again to see if they would send someone to look but they said no. Customer Services said they would but want £69 up front. I just haven't got that money spare
I'm just wondering where we stand with this? I need to sort something soon, having a 2 year old and no washing machine is no fun!
Thanks in advance

The £69 will be refunded if the fault is found to be inherent.
You will need to pay anyone to give you a report, so if you can't find anyone the. You should use the one argos offer.
How much was the machine in the first place?0 -
I'm not sure. I need to root out the paperwork0
