Experience of lv8gbdiscounts

hi everyone, I have joined the forum as I am trying to get information on any experience of this company, my experience is that on new years eve I booked some rail tickets online after payment there was a button to click to claim £20 cash back, it presents as a reward for booking but when you click on it this company enrol you in a membership, first they take 95p as some kind of "activation fee" which you don't notice on the bank statement. then it seems they take £14.95 a month from your account, it presents on your bank statement as a point of sale so you think you have bought something with your card. our bank have stopped it now but they have had £9o off me and our bank say that they have had several complaints from their customers. Although not illegal it is very underhand, when I rang them they put the phone down on me when I challenged them. I think other people need to know then they do not fall victim to this scam

It's a well known issue, happens many times over, this is why you should read things carefully when offers are presented online to you.
  • why is it not exposed then, the reason I have highlighted it is that I didn't sign or click anything apart from the £20 cash back button which by the way I never received. at no point did I give them permission to access my bank account so they must have got them by dubious means. what would be more helpful is advice on who to contact to expose this kind of behaviour on websites to reduce the amount of victims. as the bank said it isn't illegal but it is very underhand and should not be able to continue.

Did you read the T/C that go with the cash back offer?
Did/Do you check your SPAM/JUNK email folders as these often go into these as will ALL the info that they send you about your account.

See above answer. Not dubious by any means. They get them from the retailer who's site you were on, which you agreed to when you took up the cash back offer.

My advise is to always complain to the site that is partnered and offered the cash back.
If they get enough complaints then they will drop these offers.
