The web address of the Gardening board has now been changed from https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/greenfingered-moneysaving to https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/gardening so that it is in line with the board's current name. Don't worry though, the old address will still redirect you here, but it's worth updating it in your saved links or browser favourites.

I saw one of these outside a garden centre near Leicester.....it's a type of Cyprus, but can't remember the full name. They appear to be quite expensive (from £45 to £80) so I decided I could live without it.
Sorry not to be more help, if I recall the full name I will post it.

Rather than the tree I think you are referring to the type of pruning its undergone?

Cloud pruning or Niwaki pruning. Fabulous isn't it? Its expensive to buy because so e work has gone in to shaping it as well as growing it, and then you need to maintain it. You can of course grow your own. Its what we are doing. :)

Looks like Oleander to me. You see lots growing in warm climates like Italy and south of France. You can buy it in the UK but it won't survive low temperatures so you'd have to bring it indoors in winter.

Oops! Ignore what I said, I was looking at the wrong plant!

Yes the tree is not the main thing, the pruning of it is.

It looks like box hedge. Will have a look around and see if can find one.

    What tree are you growing?

Looks like a fossilised poodle to me?

Sorry, not helpful. but considering the amount of work that must have gone into that, it seems positively cheap, but then again, consider the Greek economy, ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Actually we're not just doing one........Because we are mad.:D We've only just planted and are some way off anything fun yet, but we have some fairly fun plans!

The link below might interest you, but really, There is lots of literature out there. :). I'm also getting quite keen on trying some small small pooktre here, but not sure. So many things to try and only a limited amount of time to devote to each thing!
