Ok so got a letter from debt company, saying that i owe them £840, on a credit card i had in 2000 and thought was paid off in 2004. Had gone through Baines and Ernest (yes biggest mistake ever, know that now), and had been paying £5 per month to a capital one credit card of £400. Then a couple of months ago got this letter demanding £840. Asked for details and recieved statements dated from 2000 - 2004 (november), showing the payments, but also that in the first 6 months of this £5 debit arrangement they were still putting on charges, that in 6 months racked up a wopping £600 in charges alone. I feel robbed and that I shouldn't have to pay all this, but don't know where i stand on this. HELP!! Took them 2 years for them to grace me with this lovely debt. Any ideas anybody??
